Third Party Tracking
Currently, Magic 93.9 FM's web site employs what is called a third party, behavioral tracking cookie. This cookie is not sent from Magic 93.9 or any New Rushmore Radio/Schurz Communications Inc. entity. Rather, they are sent from an outside party with the goal of tracking individual's browsing patterns across multiple sites. Your personal information is not compromised by this technology alone. However, a general "profile" of your browsing habits can be constructed over time (assuming a fair number of other sites you visit [such as search engines, social networks, etc] also employ the same cookie). This information is used in an effort to improve the results of future online advertising sales.
To many people, this is construed as a form of SpyWare. Additionally, there are a number of SpyWare-removal and anti-virus applications that will detect and warn users about these types of cookies, and provide the functionality to remove them. It is always best to keep your SpyWare-removal and anti-virus software up-to-date, and heed the warnings and suggestions given by these types of applications.
Additionally, your preferred web browser (MS Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Mac Safari, etc) will typically provide features and settings to automatically block third-party cookies. No aspect of your experience with any of our sites will be lessened or impeded if you decide to block or disable third-party cookies or advertisements (such as with an ad-blocking plugin/add-on that may or may not be available for your preferred web browser).
It is entirely your prerogative if you decide to not visit any of our sites if you feel the practices conducted therein are not entirely acceptable.
If you have comments or questions, or would like to voice your opinion on the use of third-party behavioral tracking on the Magic 93.9 FM web site, please do not hesitate to email admin@rushmoreradio.net. Your opinion matters, and may help to provide critical feedback on the future operation of our web sites.
